TV Show of The Week- Archer

Hey there all you lovely people, welcome back to my arts and entertainment blog. I have been stuck at home a lot lately, meaning that I have spend a lot of time laying on the couch with my computer plugged into the TV watching TV all day. This is good, I can’t complain about it really. I get to see more of my favourite shows, I can re-watch episodesthat I didn’t quite understand or even re-watch an entire series if I like it. That has been the case with FX’s animated spy comedy, Archer.

The Series So Far

I first started watching Archer in 2009 when it was first on television. In Canada it played on our version of Adult Swim, something called The Detour which was on Teletoon ( a kids channel) past 8 pm. Since then it has been the only show that I watch year in and year out, as soon as I can. The last season just wrapped up with the tenth episode airing during the last week of April.

Synopsis

For those of you who have never seen Archer, here is a brief summary. Super spy Sterling Archer lives in New York City and works as a spy for intelligence agency ISIS (they had the name first I swear) that is owned and operated by his mother, Mallory. The series follows Archer as he goes on crazy missions and also in his relationships with his co-workers, specifically his on again off again girlfriend Lana Kane. Other prominent characters include head of human resource Pam Poovey who has desires to be an agent but is often held back by lack of forethought. The show has a great amount of witty humor and references that will make you keep google open while watching the show, and a good mix of silly humor to keep it from getting too serious. Definitely something to watch if you haven’t seen it yet.
